Indochine, Paradize cross rock band pendant in sterling silver
This silver pendant embodies the famous cross depicted on the cover of the French rock band Indochine’s album "Paradize." Every detail has been meticulously crafted to preserve the essence of the cross originally drawn with a broad brush, including its imperfections that lend it a unique authenticity. Carved to match the asymmetrical contours of the cross, it carries within it the artistic imprint of its musical inspiration.
Released in 2002, the "Paradize" album marked the media and commercial resurgence of the rock band Indochine, making this cross-shaped logo an iconic symbol for its fans. However, explanations for the choice of this symbol remain scarce. The band’s lead singer, Nicola Sirkis, provides some clarification on this mysterious decision: "It’s a symbol that belongs to the Christian religion, to Catholics. I wanted to twist this symbol. The observation is that all the religions of the world, which were supposed to bring only happiness to the world, have brought only unhappiness. The observation is there. So, it’s not a provocation, it’s just a fact." He also adds, "It’s Indochine’s new logo, I’ve always been very attracted to religious art in general, and that’s it!"
