The door of the past, Neolithic spiral and circle ring in sterling silver

"The door of the past," this silver ring adorned with Neolithic spirals and circles, is a tangible link to our distant ancestors, an open window to the mysteries and forgotten wisdom of human history.

Neolithic funerary monuments, these silent witnesses of an ancient past known as tumuli or dolmens, are sometimes decorated with enigmatic symbols, including concentric motifs and spirals that captivate the imagination. Although their exact meaning remains veiled in the mists of time, they are often associated with the primordial forces of nature, the eternal cycles of life and death, the divine manifestations that guided the footsteps of our ancestors across the world. These motifs or variations thereof continued to be used later by the Celts, such as the triskelion, for example.

In this ring, we find one of these ancestral motifs, composed at the base of a succession of circular segments, like a rainbow or, less romantically, the Wi-Fi symbol. This arrangement recalls the engravings on Neolithic standing stones, evoking the whisper of ancient winds and the passage of ages. Recent studies even suggest that these motifs could be symbolic representations of landscapes, drawing a map of the lands known by our ancestors or these symbols would evoke hills or mountains.

By wearing this ring, we connect to our common heritage, to this shared history that spans centuries and civilizations. It reminds us that, despite our differences and evolutions, we are all linked by the thin thread of time, by the emotions and aspirations that have animated the heart of humanity since its first steps on this earth.

Thus, "The door of the past" becomes a powerful symbol of continuity and resilience, an invitation to contemplate our past with respect and gratitude, while fully embracing the present and looking towards the future with hope and curiosity.
