Persephone, pomegranate necklace in silver and garnet

The Persephone necklace is an ode to the fruit that sealed the destiny of this Greek goddess. According to the legend, Persephone was kidnapped by the god of the underworld, Hades, to become his spouse. Demeter, the harvest goddess and mother of Persephone, started to roam the earth in search of her daughter and letting the world waste away and not assuming her role. Not wanting the world to starve to death, Zeus ordered to go and find Persephone to solace her mother. As Hades did not want her spouse to be taken away, he made her eat six pomegranate grains so that she could not leave him. However, Zeus did not want to be in conflict with either of them. He then decided that Persephone would join her mother for six months on Earth during spring and summer and would go back in the underworld with her husband the other six months in autumn and winter.

Therefore, Persephone became the symbol of the life cycle.
