CUSTOM ORDER JEWELRY
Hiko was bezel set with a red coral cabochon on this bird wing shape pendant. The wing is stamped with semi-circular patterns reminding of the feathers and patterns that one can find on birds wings. Circular stamped patterns are also here to remind of the moon, of the night and of a night bird of prey.
It could be a Tungu who are half-human and half nocturne bird beings in the Japanese mythology. For a long time, they were considered as annoying devils. However, today they are seen as protectors, as mountain and forest Kami. They are quite present in the Japanese tradition as well as in Japanese manga’s.
I called it Hiko, which means, flight in Japanese hoping that it will elevate your inspiration. This pendant is one of a kind.
The back of the pendant is sawed to let your see the back of the coral.
It is polished with a matte finish.
It is 5.5 x 2.3 cm (2.165 x 0.905 inches).
