Blue crow, Norse pendant in sterling silver and labradorite

It is made of sterling silver made by hand in my workshop.

This pendant shows a beautiful oval shape labradorite. I bezel set it on a sterling silver sheet. On the back of the pendant, I hand sawed a pattern of crow. The setting is rustic. This pendant will be the perfect gift for blue lovers, nature lovers and who like raw and oxidized jewels.

I named Blue crow to the color of the labradorite and a raven cut on the back of the pendant. The blue-gray shades of this semi-precious stone made me think of the reflections in the black plumage of the raven. These same emprisoned blue colors in the stone remind me of ice and the North.
This necklace takes its roots in the Norse mythology and the famous Viking warriors. Two ravens, Hugin and Munin, use to be the companions of the god Odin. They would rest on his shoulders to tell him everything they would see and hear. Hugin symbolizes reflection (in the sense of the mirror) and Munin memory. Odin used to send them each day to travel the nine worlds to know what was happening.
The pattern of the raven was present among the Vikings who used it to decorate the drakkar sails or on their banner, as Ragnar Lodbrok (with its Reafan banner) and Harald Hardrada (Landeythan).

Dimensions: 3.5 x 2 cm (1.378 x 0.787 inches).

The sole pendant is sold.

Raw and oxidized finish.
