Blue ginkgo 2, sky leaf necklace in silver and labradorite

The Blue ginkgo 2 necklace is a custom-made piece inspired by the original Blue Ginkgo design. What sets it apart is the use of a round stone instead of the oval cabochon featured in the earlier version—carefully selected from our personal collection of labradorites. This seemingly subtle detail shifts the visual balance of the composition, lending the pendant a more solar, centered presence—like a full moon watching over the sacred tree.

This necklace is a tribute to the quiet strength of the ginkgo tree—an ancient species sometimes called “the tree of the sky,” revered for its extraordinary resilience and unique beauty. In Asia, it grows in the shadows of temples, in places where nature and the sacred engage in silent dialogue. As a survivor of the Hiroshima bombing, the ginkgo has become a universal symbol of endurance, rebirth, and the power to remain standing even when everything else collapses.

The ginkgo leaf, suspended at the tip of its gracefully curved stem, seems to drift slowly downward, as if carried by the eternal winds of autumn. Its fan-shaped form, split into two distinct lobes, echoes the duality found in every life—light and darkness, masculine and feminine, body and spirit. In the ginkgo, however, this duality is not a conflict but an invitation: a call to union, to complementarity, and to the quest for deep balance.

At the heart of the composition, the labradorite unfurls its shimmering hues—blue, green, gold, and sometimes a steely grey. This stone is more than decorative: it acts like a mirror of the soul, capturing light and transmuting it, much like those who move through life’s storms with inner clarity. Its shifting iridescence evokes cloud-swept skies, the surface of a trembling pond in a Japanese garden, and the complex emotions that stir the human heart.

Through this union of labradorite and ginkgo, the necklace becomes a metaphor for the journey of life—a dance between challenges and aspirations, between grounding and breath. Blue Ginkgo 2 is more than just a piece of jewelry: it is a poetic talisman, a fragment of nature worn close to the heart, a quiet memory of the hidden light that dwells behind every night.
