JEWELRY
INSPIRATION
This silver pendant represents the famous cross drawn on the album cover of Paradize by the French rock band Indochine. Every detail has been carefully crafted to preserve the essence of the cross originally painted with a broad brush, including its imperfections, which give it a unique authenticity. Cut according to the asymmetrical contours of the cross, it carries the artistic imprint of its musical inspiration.
Released in 2002, the album Paradize marked Indochine’s major return to the French music scene. With its dark and poetic universe, it helped make this cross an iconic emblem for a whole generation of fans. More than just a logo, it evokes the duality between faith and rebellion, between beauty and suffering, between light and shadow — recurring themes throughout the band’s work.
The origins of this symbol remain intentionally ambiguous. Nicola Sirkis, the band’s singer and founder, offered some insight: “It is a symbol that belongs to the Christian religion, to Catholics. I wanted to twist this symbol. The observation is that all the religions in the world, which were supposed to bring happiness, have only brought unhappiness. That is the fact. So, it is not a provocation; it is just a statement of fact.” He adds, “It is the new logo of Indochine. I have always been very attracted to religious art in general, and that’s it!”
On our site, you can also discover the larger, thicker version of this pendant, called the Indochine Deluxe Cross. To complete your set, we also offer the Indochine earrings, created with the same emblematic cross design.
