JEWELRY
INSPIRATION
The Eye of Nature necklace was born from that mysterious feeling one experiences when walking through the forest, sensing that you are not alone. As if the trees, stones, and wind are watching us, silent witnesses to our steps. Throughout history, legends from around the world have told of nature spirits, invisible guardians and protectors of life.
Among the Celts and European druids, forests, springs, and stones were inhabited by spirits. Rituals took place in sacred groves, the nemeton, and each tree was seen as a living being carrying wisdom. The oak, yew, or mistletoe embodied magical and sacred power.
In Nordic traditions, Germanic and Viking peoples honored the landvættir, spirits of the land and elements. Every mountain, river, or forest had its protective spirit that had to be respected.
Among the Slavs, the Leshy, master of forests and wild animals, could guide or mislead travelers.
In Japan, Shinto teaches that kami, invisible deities, reside in trees, waterfalls, stones, or mountains. An ancient tree thus becomes the dwelling of a divine spirit.
Native American peoples saw each animal, wind, or river as a protective totem. Among Amazonian peoples, trees and plants were considered spiritual masters.
In Africa, animist cults recognized the spirits of rivers, woods, and sacred stones. Among the Dogon or Yoruba, certain places were inhabited by protective spirits.
In Polynesian and Hawaiian islands, mana, the divine force, animated volcanoes, trees, waves, and natural elements.
Finally, in pre-Columbian civilizations such as the Maya, Aztec, or Inca, nature was sacred. Mountains, caves, and springs housed deities, and cenotes were seen as gateways to the underworld.
From all these beliefs emerges the same idea: nature is alive, inhabited, conscious. It has invisible eyes that watch and protect.
It is this ancient breath that inspired us. We wanted to create a jewel at the crossroads of druidic, elven, and medieval-fantasy worlds, imbued with the power of autumn. The pendant features a Baltic amber cabochon, in cognac, red, orange, and yellow hues, reminiscent of the flames and fiery leaves of the season. This round stone forms the iris of the eye. It rests on an almond-shaped silver plate, evoking the pupil. This first plate is itself mounted on a second, larger one, textured with fine lines like eyelashes and eyebrows that give depth to the gaze. On either side of the iris, small stems with delicate leaves replace the veins of the eye, emphasizing that this is truly the Eye of Nature, a living, vegetal gaze.
Perhaps this pendant offers the wearer a new vision, a more attentive and respectful perspective toward nature and its mysteries.
Metal: sterling silver (925).
Stone: Baltic amber.
