The door to the past, Neolithic spiral and circle ring in silver

The "Gate of the Past," this silver ring adorned with Neolithic spirals and circles, is a reminder of our distant ancestors, a window onto the mysteries and forgotten wisdom of human history.

Neolithic funerary monuments, those silent witnesses to an immemorial past called tumuli or dolmens, are sometimes decorated with enigmatic symbols, whose concentric patterns and spirals captivate the imagination. Although their exact meaning remains veiled in the mists of time, they are often associated with the primordial forces of nature, with the eternal cycles of life and death, which guided the steps of our ancestors across the world. These motifs, or variations of them, continued to be used later by the Celts, such as the triskelion, for example.

This ring features one of these ancestral motifs, composed primarily of a succession of circular sections, like a rainbow or, less romantically, the Wi-Fi symbol. This arrangement recalls the designs engraved on Neolithic steles, evoking the murmur of ancient winds and the passage of time. Recent studies even suggest that these motifs could be symbolic representations of landscapes, mapping the lands known to our ancestors, or could also evoke hills or mountains.

By wearing this ring, we recall this common heritage, this shared history that spans centuries and civilizations. It reminds us that, despite our differences and our evolution, we are all linked by the tenuous thread of time, by the emotions and aspirations that have animated the heart of humanity since its first steps on this earth.

Thus, the "Gate of the Past" becomes a symbol of continuity and resilience, an invitation to contemplate our past with respect and gratitude, while fully embracing the present and looking to the future with hope and curiosity.
