Poem of China is a round sterling silver necklace, hollowed at its center with another circle, inspired by a very ancient motif rich in meaning. It can be found in the art, spirituality, and ritual objects of ancient China.

The jade bi disc (璧) is a perfectly circular stone disc with a central hole. Emerging as early as the Neolithic period (Liangzhu culture, c. 3300–2200 BCE), this sacred form symbolized the sky, perfection, and cosmic harmony. The central void represented passage to the spiritual world, communication with gods and ancestors. Offered in funerary rites to nobles, it accompanied the soul toward its celestial elevation.

The hollow circle also recalls the Taoist concept of Wu (無, non-being, creative emptiness). In this philosophy, emptiness is not absence but an infinite source of birth and transformation. The circle and its hollow center thus become an image of the ever-regenerating universe, where vital energy flows freely.

The Poem of China pendant continues this tradition: it holds sacred emptiness at its center, and on its surface, a delicate floral geometric motif harmonizes with Chinese decorative art. These designs, reminiscent of traditional lattice doors, evoke the play of light and shadow, visible and invisible, dancing together like yin and yang. This necklace thus becomes a poem engraved in silver, connecting floral beauty with the eternity of the circle.
