INSPIRATION
The "Tribal sun" necklace is a silver piece inspired by the rich Inca culture of South America.
The pendant is shaped like a half-moon, reminiscent of ceremonial axes used by the Sun People, whose civilization thrived primarily between Peru and Bolivia. This half-circle features a series of concentric triangles, evoking the radiant rays of the sun.
These motifs represent Inti, the sun god of the Andean peoples, one of the most important deities in Inca cosmology. Inti, also known as the "Father Sun," was revered as the source of warmth, light, and protection for the Incas. In Inca mythology, Inti occupies a central role. Each day, according to their beliefs, Inti crosses the sky from east to west before diving into the sea to swim and return the next day. This daily cycle was considered vital for the survival of their civilization, providing the light and warmth necessary for life and agriculture. The Incas firmly believed that their emperor, called the Sapa Inca, was a direct descendant of Inti, further reinforcing their devotion to this solar deity.
To complete this unique necklace, you can pair it with the "tribal sun" earrings. Together, these pieces create a harmonious set that reflects the art and spirituality of the pre-Columbian sun.
