On the silk road, oriental cashmere ring in sterling silver

The "On the Silk Road" ring is a piece engraved with oriental and botanical motifs. It draws inspiration from the famous paisley or boteh patterns, originating in Iran, which spread along this fascinating historic trade route. Every detail of the ring evokes the refinement of ancient fabrics, the beauty of flowing shapes, and the richness of the cultures encountered by travelers of the past.

This ring recalls the legends and captivating stories of the Silk Road, used centuries ago to transport precious fabrics whose production secrets were held only by the Chinese. More than just a trade route, it was a true adventure, filled with challenges and obstacles, but also a channel for the exchange of new ideas, artistic motifs, and cultures.

Among the distinctive patterns, the boteh stands out: this plant-shaped teardrop from Iran represents a cypress, a sacred symbol in Mithraism, a cult devoted to the Iranian solar deity Zoroaster, and also evokes the sacred flame of Zoroastrianism. As it traveled, this motif spread to India, Azerbaijan, and Turkey, carrying with it symbolism of wisdom, strength, and modesty. Sometimes called the "bent cedar," the boteh has become a timeless symbol of perseverance and dignity, reflecting the quiet power of oriental traditions.
