This silver ring invites you to carry the universe in the palm of your hand. Around its band are engraved the astronomical symbols of the main celestial bodies of the solar system: the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

These symbols originate from Greco-Roman antiquity. The oldest forms already appear on Greek papyri dating from late antiquity and have evolved over the centuries, especially between the 18th and 20th centuries, with the discovery of new planets and celestial objects.

Each symbol engraved on this ring evokes a planet, its mythological character, or its traditional representation:

• ☿ Mercury’s winged helmet and caduceus, messenger of the gods
• ♀ Venus’s mirror, goddess of love
• 🜨 The Earth globe, crossed by the equator and meridian
• ♂ Mars’s spear and shield, god of war
• ♃ Jupiter’s thunderbolt or eagle, symbol of Zeus
• ♄ Saturn’s sickle, god of time
• ⛢ The upward-pointing arrow, a modern symbol of Uranus
• ♆ Neptune’s trident, god of the seas
• ☉ The Sun, source of life and light
• ☽ The Moon, Earth’s nocturnal companion
• and the symbol of Pluto, the distant and mysterious world, once classified as a planet.

The engraved motif does not fully encircle the ring but deliberately leaves a smooth space, varying in size depending on the ring’s size. This symbolic void can evoke the vastness of space, the unknown part of the universe, or a pause in the cosmic cycle.

Thickness of the ring: this model can be made with thicknesses of 1 mm, 1.3 mm or 1.6 mm. For reference, go to the last photo of the slideshow.

The ring thickness on the model is 1 mm.

Important: depending on your finger size, the solder at the back of your ring will show an interruption in the pattern with a plain vertical and in order to keep an overall harmony. Each rind is custom made and each finish will also be custom made (please refer to the example picture at the end of the photo series).
