6° per minute, steampunk clockwork earrings in silver and labradorite

The 6° per Minute earrings belong to the singular world of steampunk, that aesthetic and literary movement imagining a world where the Industrial Revolution continued powered by steam and adorned with visible gears. In this universe, mechanics are not hidden — they are celebrated, transformed into ornate decoration, embraced with Victorian elegance through complex cogs, swirling lines, and poetic machinery.

The shape of these earrings evokes a violin or cello, their curves traced by stylized gears and filigree metalwork in graceful arabesques. This musical silhouette strengthens the connection between the rhythm of time and the rhythm of music — two pulsations that animate both matter and spirit.

At their tip, a bluish-grey labradorite bead hangs like a drop of condensed steam. Its iridescent sheen, shifting between steel grey and deep blue, evokes the ghostly mist of steam engines, industrial fog, and the spectral glow of ancient machines. Labradorite, a stone of transformation and protection, brings an esoteric and energetic dimension to the design.

The name 6° per Minute refers to the precise angular movement of a minute hand on a mechanical clock face: 6 degrees per minute, completing a full 360-degree circle every hour. This mathematical yet poetic detail becomes a symbol of measured movement, the inescapable passage of time, and the horological precision that defines the steampunk cosmos.

The earrings themselves, shaped after a clock’s minute hand, embody this discreet yet steady rhythm — an invisible cadence that structures our lives. Each passing minute becomes a measured advance, a delicate dance of metal, a step into the unknown.

Wearing these earrings is to claim that temporal mechanism as your own — to inscribe your personal tempo into the ticking of time, between retro-futurist elegance and alchemical mystery.
