The “Against the Current” earrings are shaped like large droplets, suspended like falling pearls of water, evoking the peaceful and symbolic world of Japanese ponds. Their fluid, elongated silhouette mirrors the gentle ripples of water — that subtle, continuous motion animating zen gardens and the tranquil basins of temple courtyards.

Each droplet is delicately engraved with koi fish, iconic creatures in Japanese culture and symbols of courage, perseverance, and transformation. In Japanese tradition, the koi is admired for its strength and determination as it swims upstream, defying the current to reach the highest springs.
