CUSTOM ORDER JEWELRY
It is made of sterling silver (925) made by hand in my workshop and a stunning apache rhyolite.
Rhyolite apache is a fascinating stone in shades of pink with lines that traversed it and shows more red / maroon spots. I set it on a sterling silver wire that I shaped by following the natural silhouette of the stone. I then soldered solid prongs all around the frame to set this beautiful semi-precious stone.
The association with the Native American tribe was evident by the name of this semi-precious stone. In addition, red spots of this stone reminded me of rock paintings that we see sometimes on the cliffs of the mountains in the American desert. They were left by the Indians to mark their rites, their territories, hunting...
I chose the name of a group of Apaches to this pendant in tribute to their bravery, the Chiricahua. This tribe of southwestern New Mexico includes famous warriors that have marked the history of the conquest of America. These are members who fought for the freedom of their people and which one can only admire the courage. There may be mentioned such famous Chiricahua: Mangas Coloradas, Cochise, Nana, Geronimo, Naiche, Chief Taza, Lozen, Victorio and Dahteste.
The sterling silver was polished with a shiny finish.
It measures 4.2 x 2.7 cm.
This pendant is really one of a kind.
