Hortense, baroque floral cameo necklace in silver, prehnite and amazonite

The “Hortense” necklace was conceived as a jewel straight from a secret garden, where the elegance of baroque style meets the delicacy of flora. At its center, a large oval prehnite cabochon, carved like a cameo, captures the light with its translucent light green hue, streaked with fine black lines. This soft and subtle stone evokes tender foliage and young shoots that often go unnoticed, yet whose gentle presence nourishes and soothes.

The name Hortense, inspired by the hydrangea flower, originates from Latin and means “she who comes from the garden.” It turns this pendant into a small piece of ornamental nature, a fragment of a blooming garden to carry close to the heart. The cabochon rests on a silver plate with wavy contours resembling open petals, transforming the stone into the heart of a flower. On one side, a tiny silver flower, delicately sculpted, seems to have landed there by magic.

At the base of the pendant glimmers a light blue amazonite pearl, pure like a drop of water at dawn. From this precious drop emerge finely carved leaves, symbolizing the life that water brings to nature. Without this source, no garden could flourish. The two stones, one green and the other bluish, respond to each other like foliage and sky, or like the plant and the water that nourishes it.

The pastel shades of the piece recall those of hydrangea flowers, which in the language of flowers embody harmony, fullness, and grace. The hydrangea is also a symbol of abundance and generosity, with its round, opulent blooms offering beauty freely. Wearing this necklace surrounds you with an aura of gentleness, gratitude, and serenity, while displaying the refined opulence of baroque style.
