The Sea, Japanese wave ring in sterling silver
The sea, with its infinite mysteries and enigmas, remains a central element of Japanese culture, permeating every aspect of life on this island. Its influence transcends geographical boundaries to touch the hearts and minds of people worldwide. Both fascinating and formidable, it evokes contrasting feelings: the call of travel and adventure, the wonder at its infinite splendor, but also the respect tinged with fear towards its indomitable force.
In this ring, simply titled "The Sea," Japanese waves come to life in the form of delicate engraving, capturing the momentum and dynamics of the ocean. Inspired by Hokusai’s iconic ukiyo-e, "The Great Wave off Kanagawa," this artistic representation transcends mere outlines to express the grandeur and majesty of the moving sea. Each curve and line evokes the tumultuous dance of the elements during a storm at sea, where nature reveals its raw power and wild beauty.
Contemplating this ring inevitably brings to mind the masterful works of the legendary Hayao Miyazaki, especially "Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea," where the sea becomes a character in its own right, embodying both the gentleness and the fury of the elements.
Thus, this ring transcends its simple form to become a vibrant tribute to the sea, a constant reminder of the complexity and beauty of our connection with the ocean, an endless source of inspiration and contemplation for dreamy souls and intrepid adventurers alike.
We also offer another ring featuring waves in the Japanese style, representing Seigaiha, which you can find under the name Hitomi.

Finish: shiny and oxidized.
Manufacturing time: 5 business days.
Thickness of the ring: this model can be made with thicknesses of 1 mm, 1.3 mm or 1.6 mm. For reference, go to the last photo of the slideshow.
The ring thickness on the model is 1mm.
Important: depending on your finger size, the solder at the back of your ring will show an interruption in the pattern in order to keep an overall harmony of the design. Each ring is custom made and the finish will also be custom made.
