Rising tide, red seaweed pendant in silver and Maury Mountain agate

The “Rising Tide” pendant is built around a magnificent Maury Mountain agate, a rare gemstone from Oregon, USA, renowned for its mossy patterns that resemble miniature natural landscapes.

The agate's design evokes marine plants dancing gently underwater as the tide rises—flexible and flowing like red seaweed. This image inspired the name “Rising Tide.”

This particular agate displays red-orange moss-like inclusions suspended in a translucent matrix, reminiscent of the clear coastal tidepools. These organic patterns seem to float within the stone, creating a hypnotic sense of depth.

As the sea returns, seaweeds lift and sway in unison with the currents, unfurling their vibrant colors after lying motionless on the rocks during low tide.

Each Maury Mountain agate is a natural scene in itself, a liquid painting shaped by time. This one is truly unique. It is set onto a sterling silver plate, hand-cut in undulating, irregular lines to echo the free and untamed motion of waves washing over marine vegetation.

The stone is held by large prongs that reveal as much of its natural beauty as possible. The two lower prongs, shaped like crescent moons, symbolize the moon—ancestral ruler of the tides. One of them is stamped with a tiny moon symbol, a subtle tribute to the celestial force that lifts oceans and governs the rhythm of the tides.

The back of the pendant features an openwork design inspired by aquatic plants or stylized coral. This cutout lets light shine through the stone, highlighting its internal patterns. Several small circles also appear—like bubbles of oxygen swirling in the surf.
