JEWELRY
INSPIRATION
The “Mobilis in Mobile” ring is a custom-made piece, created upon request for a client who selected the typography to engrave this meaningful Latin phrase.
“Mobilis in mobile” is the motto of the submarine Nautilus and its enigmatic captain Nemo in Jules Verne’s novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. This Latin expression literally means “moving within the moving,” or “mobile within the mobile element,” symbolizing adaptability and freedom within a constantly shifting environment — in this case, the ever-changing depths of the ocean.
The phrase is also the title of the fourth album by the French band L’Affaire Louis’ Trio. This album, partly inspired by Captain Nemo’s world, marked an artistic turning point for the group, with a more melancholic and mature tone. For lead singer Hubert Mounier, it was the band’s album of maturity — the moment they fully embraced their musical identity.
This ring bridges literature, music, and symbolism, embodying a spirit of adventure, freedom, and introspection. It speaks to fans of Jules Verne, lovers of French rock, and anyone drawn to meaningful, personal jewelry.
