Oceanid, Greek wave wedding ring in sterling silver

These sterling silver wedding bands were crafted according to the wishes of a couple seeking rings that truly reflected who they are.
They commissioned a pair of wedding bands inspired by an existing model from our shop, called Poseidon, which was originally made in brass. To better suit their preferences, we adjusted the width of the rings, making them slimmer and more in harmony with their hands and personal style.

We chose to name this personalized creation Oceanid, to remain within the marine universe suggested by the engraved wave frieze, and in continuity with the names of other rings in the same collection — Poseidon and Neptune. The name also evokes a touch of lightness and mystery, echoing the poetic spirit of ancient myths.

In Greek mythology, the Oceanids are aquatic nymphs, daughters of Oceanus and Tethys. They are said to number three thousand, each one being the guardian of a particular body of water — a spring, a river, a lake, or a sea. They embodied both the beauty and the vital force of water, as well as the connection between the natural world and the divine.

The engraved pattern on this set of rings evokes wild waves stirred by the wind across the sea’s surface. The design is directly inspired by the decorative friezes of ancient Greece, which could be found sculpted on temple pediments, painted on pottery, or composed in mosaics adorning floors and walls of homes. These flowing, rhythmic motifs symbolized movement, renewal, and infinity — a poetic image that naturally fits the meaning of marriage and the eternal bond symbolized by wedding rings.
