INSPIRATION
These earrings are called Ophite, a name given by the Greeks to ammonites. The word "ophite" or "ophiens" comes from the Greek meaning "serpent." This attribution probably stems from the fact that the ammonite resembles a coiled, petrified snake. Such a curious object was bound to give rise to numerous legends during Antiquity.
Like its spiral-shelled cousins such as the snail or the nautilus, the shape of the ammonite symbolizes the cycle, growth, and infinity.
These small stud earrings adopt the silhouette of an ammonite, with the surface etched with the growth lines observed on these fossils, or on its still-living descendant, the nautilus.
Small in size, these earrings can be worn both day and night. Their unusual design will set you apart from the crowd with its unique and elegant style. They can also be worn in harmony with other studs on your ear, adding a distinctive and sophisticated touch to your look.
