Sanctuary, Celtic sacred rectangle necklace in silver, gold, and chrysoprase

Sanctuary is a necklace whose pendant follows the natural shape of a chrysoprase cabochon. This stone, with shades of green and yellow, evokes an aerial view of a vast forest dotted with clearings and paths, like a secret landscape revealed through the gem. Near the center, a unique brown spot appears like a mysterious mark on an ancient map, guiding the wearer to a sacred place hidden in the heart of nature. Could it be a forgotten nemeton, protected for centuries by the silence of the druids?

The Gaulish word nemeton refers to a sanctuary, a sacred space where the Celts performed their rituals under the guidance of druids. Often rectangular, surrounded by ditches, earthworks, and wooden palisades, it mirrors the geometry of the pendant, a miniature representation of a ritual enclosure. But this sanctuary can also be seen as an inner space, a secret grove, an intimate clearing to reconnect with nature and its invisible forces.

The cabochon is set on two staggered plates, forming symbolic steps reminiscent of the ditch or palisade that once bordered the nemeton. These oxidized plates carry a patina that evokes the passage of time and the memory of ages. A single prong, like a root emerging from the earth, holds the stone, protecting the hidden secret of the druidic sanctuary.

On one side, a gold sphere shines like a celestial body: sun or moon, these cosmic symbols central to Celtic worship, to which many sanctuaries were dedicated. It illuminates the piece with its timeless glow, connecting earth to sky, the visible to the invisible.

Sanctuary thus becomes a talisman, a sacred map both external and internal, inviting meditation, spiritual questing, and an ancestral connection to the druids and the forest.
