The morning star, oriental earrings in silver and nacre

The Morning Star is a pair of silver earrings inspired by Venus, the first evening glow and the last star visible before dawn. Their silhouette follows an oriental style: a bracket-shaped cut on all four sides, reminiscent of the elegant arches adorning the doors and windows of Eastern palaces.

At the center, a mother-of-pearl cabochon diffuses its white, milky reflections, similar to the shine of Venus in the sky. Depending on the angle of the light, the nacre reveals iridescent nuances, as if the planet itself were reflected in the jewel. Above and below, a small-leafed plant symbolizes fertility, while radiant motifs on the sides recall the light of the stars.

Venus, also called the “Morning Star,” is the brightest object in the sky after the Sun and the Moon. Its presence at dawn and dusk made it a universal symbol of love, beauty, and feminine power. In ancient Mesopotamia, it was associated with Ishtar (or Inanna), goddess of love, fertility, and war, reflecting the duality of Venus, morning and evening star. In Egypt, it was linked to Hathor and later Isis, goddesses of love, maternity, and magic. The Egyptians even gave her two names: Douaou, the morning star, and Bonou, the evening star.
