Ondolindë, secret Elven necklace in silver, brass and white labradorite

The name Ondolindë comes from the universe of J. R. R. Tolkien, in Quenya, the noble Elvish language he created. It literally means “Song of the Rock” or “Song of the Stone.” It is the ancient Elvish name of the city of Gondolin, the hidden city founded by Turgon in The Silmarillion. In Sindarin, Gondolin carries a similar meaning: “Hidden Stone” or “Song of Stone.” This name evokes a poetic and secret Elven city, where the stone itself resonates like an eternal melody, symbolizing harmony between the mineral world, art, and spirit.

At the heart of this necklace lies an elongated oval white labradorite, whose shifting reflections of blue and white seem to capture the light of ancient songs. It evokes a fragment torn from the enchanted walls of Gondolin, hidden within a magical forest by the elves to preserve its mystery. This stone becomes a secret gateway opening onto a lost city, protected by nature and the memory of ancient peoples.

The cabochon is set on an irregular-shaped plate, whose silhouette recalls an ancient, impenetrable bush — a natural guardian enveloping the stone, shielding it from prying eyes. Around it spread finely sculpted leaves and small silver and brass spheres resembling mysterious fruits, transformed by the stone’s magic into luminous symbols. The piece becomes an Elven offering, between legend and jewelry, a symbol of protection, beauty, and secrecy.
