Prism ring

Prism, triangle square circle ring in sterling silver

“Prism” is a ring born from a very particular wish. One of our clients wanted the three major geometric shapes—the archetypes that have traversed human history—to be engraved on their ring: separated on the inside, united on the outside.

We therefore created an inner engraving with a square, a triangle, and a circle, each maintaining its own identity. On the exterior, these three shapes come together: a circle encompassing a square, itself containing a triangle. As if the ring became a prism, capable of separating light and recomposing it, dividing and uniting, fragmenting and reconciling.

Our client did not explain the meaning of this piece. But the arrangement they chose opens a field of profound symbolic interpretations:

• The circle: an image of infinity, the cosmos, the divine, perfection, and the endless cycle. It is the universe and the spirit embracing all.
• The square: a symbol of matter, stability, order, and the four directions. It represents the Earth, the manifested world, the structure on which existence is founded.
• The triangle: a sign of elevation and spiritual aspiration. Pointing upwards, it represents fire, transcendence, and ascension. Pointing downwards, it evokes water and receptivity. In all traditions, it conveys the idea of the trinity (body-soul-spirit, birth-life-death, past-present-future).

Together in a single ring, these symbols complement and respond to one another:

• A union of opposites: the circle of infinity and the square of limits find balance in the triangle, the mediator and principle of harmony.
• An initiatory path: from the All (circle) to earthly experience (square), then rising to higher consciousness (triangle).
• A mandala: a meditation center, where each shape concentrates and guides the mind toward the essential.
• An alchemical sign: the passage from universal spirit to matter, and its transmutation into spiritual energy.

Thus, “Prism” connects humanity to the cosmos, matter to spirit, fragmentation to unity. It becomes a talisman of transformation, balance, and inner quest.

 

Metal: sterling silver (925).

Band width: 0.4 in (10 mm)

Finish: polished and oxidized

 

Thickness of the ring: this model can be made with thicknesses of 1 mm, 1.3 mm or 1.6 mm. For reference, go to the last photo of the slideshow.

The ring thickness on the model is 1.3 mm.

Important: depending on your finger size, the solder at the back of your ring will show an interruption in the pattern with a plain vertical and in order to keep an overall harmony. Each rind is custom made and each finish will also be custom made (please refer to the example picture at the end of the photo series).
