JEWELRY
INSPIRATION
The "Heart of Life" ring is inspired by the Manuah motif, originating from the Maori tribes of Polynesia and traditionally used in their tattoos. It embodies the richness and depth of Maori culture, where every line and every symbol carries a spiritual meaning.
The Manuah, also known as the "koru," means "heart" and symbolizes the journey of life. It represents the path each person takes, with past milestones, challenges, and future aspirations. The koru is directly linked to the silver fern, an emblematic plant of New Zealand, whose frond slowly unfolds. This image evokes growth, renewal, evolution, and harmony with nature. It is a powerful symbol of transformation, rebirth, and inner strength.
In Maori tradition, the lines of the Manuah follow the natural flow of the body and skin, tracing the life path of the person tattooed. Each tattoo becomes a personal story, a unique narrative inscribed in the flesh. This dialogue between the individual and the tattoo artist is fundamental, as it reflects lived experiences, roots, ancestors, and each person’s place within the cycle of life.
The "Heart of Life" ring carries this symbolism by engraving the main lines of the Manuah, enriched with spirals reminiscent of the koru. It evokes both the ancestral art of Polynesian tattooing and a contemporary vision of silver jewelry.
