The evening star, Moorish architecture earrings in silver and amethyst

The Evening Star earrings mirror the Morning Star earrings, both inspired by Venus, the celestial body that shines as brightly at dawn as at dusk. Here, it is the evening Venus that is celebrated: the first light visible when night falls and the sky turns a deep violet.

The jewelry features an oriental shape, bracket-cut on all four sides, reminiscent of the elegant arches of Moorish palaces. This silhouette, with its four points, evokes a star on its own. At the center, an amethyst cabochon sits like a celestial jewel. Its purple hue reflects the mysterious shades of the twilight sky, just before night swallows the light and Venus appears, radiant.

The “Morning Star,” Venus, is the brightest planet in the sky after the Sun and the Moon. Its dual presence at dawn and dusk has made it a universal symbol of beauty, love, and feminine power. In ancient Mesopotamia, it was associated with Ishtar (or Inanna), goddess of love, fertility, and war, reflecting Venus’s dual luminous and dark nature. In Egypt, it was linked to Hathor and later Isis, goddesses of love, maternity, and magic. The Egyptians even distinguished two aspects of Venus: Douaou, the morning star, and Bonou, the evening star.

This piece draws inspiration from this universal symbolism. Amethyst, a stone of wisdom and spirituality, strengthens this connection to the night sky and invites meditation and inner peace. Wearing the Evening Star adorns you with a radiance that is both celestial and earthly—a jewel that blends cultural heritage, starlight, and symbolic power.
