JEWELRY
INSPIRATION
“The Roots of Chance” is a custom-made ring created for a client, inspired by my own wedding ring.
It is composed of several silver wires, coiled and fused together to form a network of roots. Tiny silver beads and an ultra-fine wire intertwine with this organic weave, bringing texture and brightness to this unique creation.
The idea for this ring came to me while preparing for my wedding, reflecting on my life — on all the paths I had taken to get to that point. Some were dead ends, some led to sudden retreats, and others to unexpected crossroads that forever altered my direction.
Like the roots of a tree that provide stability and growth, life is a tangle of choices, opportunities, and trials that shape who we become. From that organized chaos emerges a strong trunk, a grounded being, fully aligned with their journey.
I met my husband in our teenage years, during an archaeological dig, while digging into the earth… and quite literally clearing away roots!
Life took its time — nearly fifteen years — to patiently weave the thread that would bring us back together. During that time, each of us lived formative experiences that helped prepare us to reunite and build a shared life, full of understanding and meaning.
Beyond this personal story, the ring also evokes the Moirai of Greek mythology — or the Parcae in Roman myth. These goddesses of fate are said to weave the thread of every human life: Clotho spins it, Lachesis measures it, and Atropos cuts it.
This mythological image resonates with the roots of my own tree of life — invisible but essential, unpredictable yet necessary, forming a unique design born of both chance and destiny.
