Lyric, medieval flower ring in sterling silver

The Lyric ring draws its inspiration from the world of the Middle Ages and the delicate art of illumination found in the precious manuscripts of that era. The domed surface of this piece features an engraving of vegetal and floral motifs, reminiscent of the intricate, stylized interlacing patterns created by illuminators in the margins and initials of medieval codices.

This design evokes a poem unfolding like ivy, spiraling and gradually filling the page. A lively growth, almost musical, where the vegetal lines become rhythm, breath, and movement. It is this dynamic that inspired us to name the ring Lyric, referring to the birth of lyrical poetry in 12th-century France, in the footsteps of troubadours and trouvères, where poetry and music were inseparable.

Once engraved, the disc is domed inward to take on a concave shape, resembling an open corolla. To punctuate this visual poem and give the composition a focal point, we soldered a silver bead at the center of the engraving, like the pistil of a blooming flower.

The entire piece is mounted on a finely balanced half-round band, providing lightness, comfort, and elegance to the ring.
A jewel like a sung miniature, where every detail tells a fragment of medieval poetry.
