The Radenec ring is a custom-made piece created for one of our customers, who wanted to modify our Raden ring by giving it a wider band of 0.59 in (15 mm). This wide silver ring was designed to be adjustable so that it can fit the finger of the person wearing it. Its botanical design and band of fern leaves make it an original piece of jewelry inspired by nature and Celtic traditions. If you would also like to customize one of our rings or another band from our shop, please feel free to contact us to discuss your custom jewelry project.
The name Radenec is a play on the name of the original ring, Raden, extending its name just as its width has been increased. Radenec is also a Breton place name found in Brittany, particularly in Finistère and around the Gulf of Morbihan. Its origin is linked to the Breton word "raden," which means fern. Place names such as Radenec or Radeneg therefore evoke a place where ferns grow abundantly, a kind of fern grove. This name is particularly fitting for this botanical ring, whose design recalls woodland plants and the wild landscapes of Brittany.
This silver ring with fern motifs is decorated with a band of finely engraved leaves. The fern is an emblematic plant of woodland, growing in shady, damp places where sunlight struggles to pass through the trees. With its finely divided leaves and delicate shapes, it evokes forests, wild vegetation, the freshness of the earth, and the mystery of nature. This Celtic silver jewelry piece is inspired by the plant world and the beauty of plants that grow away from view.
In ancient traditions, the fern was associated with various folk beliefs and medicinal uses. It was sometimes considered a protective plant and was used in certain traditional preparations. It was believed to have properties that could help relieve joint pain, rheumatism, and osteoarthritis. According to some folk traditions, the Gauls also slept on beds of ferns to benefit from the comfort of this plant and its supposed properties.
The fern also holds a place in the imagery associated with the Celts, druids, and ancient beliefs about the forest. It can evoke memory, life, protection, and the deep connection between human beings and nature. Wild plants, trees, and woodland are important elements in Celtic imagery, often associated with the forces of nature and mysterious places.
Radenec is an original piece of jewelry for those who love Celtic rings, forest-inspired jewelry, leaf motifs, and handcrafted silver creations. This ring may also appeal to lovers of symbolic jewelry, wild nature, and Breton traditions.
