JEWELRY
INSPIRATION
The "Rune" pendant is a unique and personalized creation in silver, adorned with runes carefully selected by the client. This piece of jewelry features a roughly oval and textured shape, reminiscent of an ancient stone, like a stele or menhir, giving the pendant a timeless sense of strength and character.
Each side of the pendant is engraved with a rune from the Elder Futhark, the oldest runic alphabet of Germanic origin, used between the 2nd and 8th centuries. These symbols, steeped in history and mysticism, are deeply rooted in Norse tradition. The discovery of the runes is attributed to Odin, the supreme god of Norse mythology, in the poem Hávamál from the Poetic Edda. According to legend, Odin hung himself on the World Tree, Yggdrasil, pierced by his own spear, Gungnir, for nine days and nine nights. This sacrifice allowed him to gain the wisdom needed to master the nine worlds and know the secrets of the runes.
For this pendant, our client chose two specific runes: Laguz and Thurisaz. Thurisaz, the third rune, symbolizes the "giant" or "Thor," evoking notions of strength, protection, and power. Laguz, the twenty-first rune, represents "water" or the "sea," associated with fluidity, intuition, and deep emotions.
Metal: sterling silver (925).
Dimensions: 1.33 x 0.59 in (3.4 x 1.5 cm).
