Phyllis, Greek mythology ring in sterling silver and carnelian

The "Phyllis" ring features a wide silver disc intricately engraved with vegetal motifs, inspired by the tragic legend of Phyllis, a princess of Thrace in Greek mythology.

The circular face of the ring is adorned with arabesques of plants, flowers, and leaves that intertwine like the branches of a tree of life. The design is framed by a circle of small round motifs, echoing both the cycles of nature and the circles of fate. At the center of this symbolic shield shines a red carnelian, fiery like the loving and grieving heart of Princess Phyllis, frozen in anticipation.

The name Phyllis means "foliage" in ancient Greek, a direct reflection of the ring’s vegetal decoration, which here becomes a tribute to the almond tree, connected to her legend.

In mythology, Phyllis fell in love with Acamas or Demophon, sons of Theseus, depending on the version. After returning from Troy, the prince was to marry her, but he left for Athens to handle pressing matters, promising to return. Days and then months passed, and Phyllis, consumed by grief, let herself die. The gods, moved by her faithful love, transformed her into a barren almond tree. When her lover finally returned and embraced the tree, it suddenly blossomed again, symbolizing rebirth and a love that triumphs over death.

The "Phyllis" ring carries this powerful symbolism: engraved foliage that bears no fruit but holds a burning heart at its center. The carnelian, a stone of vitality, grounding, and passion, brings this myth to life, imparting strength and courage to the wearer. Through it, the ring becomes a talisman of eternal love, hope, and renewal.
