Akapana, kite earrings in silver and blue zircon

Akapana, a term evoking the "whirlwind of wind" in the Zapotec language of Oaxaca, Mexico, lends its name to these diamond-shaped earrings, embodying both cultural heritage and timeless beauty.

These earrings feature an engraved pre-Hispanic motif inspired by the rich Mexican textile traditions and weavings. This geometric pattern, often referred to as a "diamond," is a symbol carrying ancient narratives and symbolism.

At the heart of this ancestral motif, blue zircons sparkle like stars in the firmament, reminiscent of the purity and serenity of the sky. Their brilliance beautifully contrasts with the silver, creating harmony between the ancient and the contemporary, between tradition and modernity.

The elegant diamond shape of these earrings evokes the poetic image of a kite soaring into the infinite skies, capturing the essence of freedom and escapade. It is a tribute to the lightness of being and the power of imagination, inviting the wearer to soar towards new horizons.
