JEWELRY
INSPIRATION
This set of wedding bands was specially designed for a couple deeply connected to Polynesian culture. At their request, we created a bespoke model inspired by the traditional symbol of the Marquesan cross, also known as the "Cross of the Marquesas". The design is based on our existing "Marquisienne" ring model, which we adapted and personalized with an engraved message chosen by the couple.
The rings incorporate typical motifs from Polynesian art, reflecting the cultural richness of various Pacific regions: not only French Polynesia, but also New Zealand, Hawaii, Samoa, Tonga, and Easter Island. These intertwined patterns tell a story — one of ancient civilizations that lived in close harmony with the forces of nature and the spiritual world.
At the heart of the design lies the Marquesan cross, or peka ‘enana, an ancestral symbol whose name is sometimes translated as "cross of human figures". It represents the meeting point between the human and the divine, and embodies harmony between the four fundamental elements: earth, water, air, and fire. Its soft, balanced lines form a stylized cross in which human forms can be seen — a testimony to the deep connection between people, ancestors, and the natural order of the world.
This meaningful and powerful motif is central to this personalized creation. It brings to life a pair of rings that seem to resonate together in perfect harmony. That idea of resonance and shared frequency inspired the name of this set: Diapason. Like two perfectly tuned notes, these rings symbolize the harmony of a couple committed to living in sync — honoring their story, their values, and their unique bond.
Metal: 925 sterling silver.
