The name "Citlalli" (meaning star) evokes the splendor of stars in the Zapotec language, an ancient language of Mexico. In ancient times, stars served to guide humans through the darkness of the night, illuminating the path in the right direction. Just like the stars in the night sky, we all need that glow to light our way when we are lost in the darkness of our lives.

These oval earrings embody the spirit of Citlalli with their distinctive Pre-Hispanic motif, found in several cultures of Mexico. The diamond-shaped pattern roughly resembles a cross, formed by a central rhombus surrounded by a series of triangles. This representation could symbolize a star, thus recalling the guiding function of stars in the sky. To bring this motif to life, we have added relief by soldering a series of three discs, resembling bright stars in the celestial vault. Additionally, small dangling pendants add delicate movement to these earrings, evoking the twinkling of stars in the night.
