Doctor Jekyll, steampunk watch gear ring in sterling silver

This ring draws its inspiration from the steampunk universe and from the famous novel Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, written by Robert Louis Stevenson at the end of the 19th century, during the heart of the Victorian era. This literary and historical context gave rise to a world where the elegance of gentlemen coexists with complex mechanisms, industrial steam, and the mysteries of science.

In this ring, the steampunk aesthetic takes shape through an engraved pattern of watch gears, evoking both the precision of machinery and the inner workings of the human soul. It reflects the tension between reason and impulse, consciousness and instinct — a duality embodied by Dr Jekyll himself. This refined and cultured character struggles against his dark alter ego, Mr Hyde, the incarnation of repressed and uncontrollable desires.

The mechanical motif suggests that the human mind functions like a clock: seemingly orderly and structured, yet always on the edge of disorder. The interlocking gears symbolize time, reflection, and the inescapable chain of choices, consequences, and shifting identities.

Thickness of the ring: this model can be made with thicknesses of 1 mm, 1.3 mm or 1.6 mm. For reference, go to the last photo of the slideshow.

The ring thickness on the model is 1.3 mm.

Important: depending on your finger size, the solder at the back of your ring will show an interruption in the pattern with a plain vertical and in order to keep an overall harmony. Each rind is custom made and each finish will also be custom made (please refer to the example picture at the end of the photo series).
