Lotus awakening, aquatic flower earrings in silver and opal

Like a lotus flower gently emerging from the mud and water, these beautiful earrings have been patiently hand-pierced to slowly come to life from a sheet of sterling silver.

These earrings have been cut into a half-circle shape to evoke a pool of water from which the lotus flower slowly unfolds, extending its leaves and the heart of its flower. Around it, various aquatic plants flourish, stretching their long stems and leaves in search of the light. Together, they evoke the peaceful tranquility of a pond where vegetation grows quietly through the changing seasons.

A beautiful cabochon of Peruvian pink opal, in a delicate pastel pink shade, recalls the softness of lotus flowers in bloom. Its luminous reflections bring a touch of poetry and delicacy to this botanical composition.

The lotus is one of the oldest, deepest, and most universal symbols in the history of humanity. Its symbolism spans the ages and cultures, from Ancient Egypt to Asia, because of its unique way of growing: it takes root in the mud and silt of ponds before blooming beautifully on the surface of the water, remaining perfectly pure.

Because it transforms a dark environment into a radiant bloom, the lotus has become a symbol of rebirth, transformation, purity, hope, and spiritual elevation. In several Asian traditions, it also represents spiritual awakening, wisdom, and inner harmony. Some species open their flowers with the daylight and close them again at nightfall, making the lotus a symbol of daily renewal and the eternal cycle of life.
