JEWELRY
INSPIRATION
The "Hitomi small" ring captures the Japanese aesthetic through its wave-inspired motifs. At the heart of Japanese island culture, the sea is a living force, a symbol of power, resilience, and journey. The Hitomi ring celebrates this intimate connection between humans and nature, reminding us that life, like the sea, oscillates between calm and storm.
Its distinctive motif, called Seigaiha, or "blue sea wave," has adorned Japanese fabrics, ceramics, and screens for centuries. This endless repetition of overlapping concentric circles creates a sense of fluidity and balance. Each wave seems to tell a story of inner peace, serenity, and prosperity. In Japanese culture, this motif is also a wish for lasting happiness and stability.
The very name of the ring, Hitomi, which means "eye" or "pupil" in Japanese, suggests a depth and intensity similar to that of a gaze.
The Hitomi small ring is a narrower version of the Hitomi ring. Its finesse makes it a delicate piece of jewelry, ideal for everyday wear, alone or in combination with other rings. You can find the larger version at the following link:
