JEWELRY
INSPIRATION
"Butterfly Lovers" is a ring imbued with tenderness and poetry, inspired by an ancient Chinese legend where love triumphs beyond death. Its delicate design depicts two intertwined butterflies, their wings joining in an eternal embrace. Their silhouettes merge into one another, like two inseparable souls bound by a destiny that nothing can break. Two silver discs overlap, like a veil of modesty preserving the intimacy of their kiss. Every detail is meticulously engraved, capturing the delicacy of their bodies and the fineness of their wings.
This ring is more than just jewelry: it tells a millennia-old legend, that of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai, often called the Romeo and Juliet of ancient China.
Zhu Yingtai, the daughter of a noble family, dreams of learning and discovering the world. Disguised as a boy to attend school, she meets Liang Shanbo, a brilliant and kind young man. Together, they study for three years, sharing their laughter and dreams, without Liang ever realizing the true identity of his friend.
Over time, Zhu falls deeply in love. But her father summons her home before she can reveal her feelings. Before leaving, she begs Liang to visit her. When he finally comes, she reveals herself, and Liang realizes too late that he loves Zhu as well. Alas, fate separates them: Zhu’s father has already arranged her marriage to another man. Heartbroken, Liang dies of despair.
On the day of the wedding, Zhu, with a shattered heart, sails by the grave of her beloved. A storm arises, the wind blows, and the earth opens. She throws herself in without hesitation to join him. Calm returns, and two butterflies rise from the grave, flying together toward the sky, free and united for eternity.
Thus, the "Butterfly Lovers" ring embodies loyalty, freedom, and the transformation of eternal love. Like the butterflies of the legend, it symbolizes the passage from sorrow to light, from life to eternity, and celebrates the union of two souls becoming one.
