Livunn, Viking ring in sterling silver

The "Livunn" engraved Viking ring draws its inspiration from the depths of Norse history. Its name itself is an ancient Viking given name derived from the Norse words "hlif" for protection or life, and "unna" for love.

The Livunn ring's design pays homage to the famous longships, those fearsome Viking ships that sailed the seas with boldness and intrepidity. Two series of undulating waves, like the raging swells of the ocean, gracefully intertwine. In each space between the intersections of the waves, a circle is carefully depicted, evoking the immensity of the sea that was the scene of the Vikings' maritime exploits. The sea, a source of life and wealth for this seafaring people, offered them a variety of opportunities, ranging from fishing and trade to exploration and even piracy. Among the deities associated with this primordial element, Njörd and Aegir occupy a prominent place, embodying power, wealth, and prosperity.

The small circles between the waves also evoke the round shields that protected the intrepid Viking warriors on their longships. Adorned with symbols and bright colors, these shields inspired fear in their enemies and testified to the pride and bravery of the Norse warriors. Symbols of eternity, the circles present in the ring's motif have neither beginning nor end, thus recalling the continuity of the cycle of life and the permanence of ancestral Viking traditions.

Thickness of the ring: this model can be made with thicknesses of 1 mm, 1.3 mm or 1.6 mm. For reference, go to the last photo of the slideshow.

The ring thickness on the model is 1.3 mm.

Important: depending on your finger size, the solder at the back of your ring will show an interruption in the pattern with a plain vertical and in order to keep an overall harmony. Each rind is custom made and each finish will also be custom made (please refer to the example picture at the end of the photo series).
