Njord, Viking wave ring in sterling silver

The Njord Ring is a bold creation inspired by the powerful and symbolic aesthetic of ancient Nordic art. It features a frieze of stylized wave-shaped spirals, a recurring motif in Viking ornamentation, commonly found on artifacts, ships, and runestones. These undulating forms, engraved in silver, evoke both the fluid movement of the sea and the invisible breath of the wind—two elements inseparable from the Viking world.

The edges of the band have been carefully smoothed to offer optimal comfort despite the presence of a pronounced design.

The name Njord, chosen for this ring, refers to the Norse god of the sea, wind, navigation, and abundance. Father of Freyr and Freyja, he holds an important place in the Scandinavian pantheon. He was revered by sailors, fishermen, and merchants, who invoked him before setting sail to ask for protection, favorable winds, and bountiful catches. In ancient beliefs, Njord is also associated with prosperity, peace, and fertility.

The circular spirals that adorn the ring symbolize both the cyclical strength of the natural elements and the bond between humans and the invisible forces that govern their fate.

Thickness of the ring: this model can be made with thicknesses of 1 mm, 1.3 mm or 1.6 mm. For reference, go to the last photo of the slideshow.

The ring thickness on the model is 1.6 mm.

Important: depending on your finger size, the solder at the back of your ring will show an interruption in the pattern with a plain vertical and in order to keep an overall harmony. Each rind is custom made and each finish will also be custom made (please refer to the example picture at the end of the photo series).
