Solitary star, nocturnal guide earrings in silver and zircon

Solitary Star is a beautiful pair of earrings, carefully hand-sawn with patience and precision in the shape of the shepherd’s star, with eight branches. Each star is handcrafted with care to create a luminous and balanced form. At the center are set light mauve zircon cabochons, with a soft and soothing glow, evoking a subtle light in the evening sky.

In reality, the shepherd’s star is none other than the planet Venus, the brightest object in the sky after the Sun and the Moon. It is called this because its appearance at dusk or dawn traditionally marked the beginning or the end of the shepherds’ day. Its light served as a landmark, a guide, in open and silent landscapes.

Historically, its brightness helped guide shepherds to and from the pastures. It thus symbolizes direction, a reassuring presence, a fixed point in the sky, simple and essential. It accompanies steps, lights the way, and connects humankind to nature and time.

Its long rays recall the luminous strength of this celestial body, allowing us to see it shining from Earth. Even though Venus is not a star, its light is so intense that it crosses the sky and draws the eye. It offers a simple and enchanting spectacle, reminding us how small we are within a vast and infinite universe.

We named this pair of earrings Solitary Star because sometimes the shepherd’s star is the only one to pierce the night sky. It appears alone, suspended in the vastness, even though we know it is surrounded by many other stars, invisible on certain days. It evokes solitude, but also the strength to exist and to shine, even in silence.
