Firoza, indian ring in silver and turquoise

The Firoza silver ring is a custom creation, designed around a turquoise carefully selected from our online gemstone catalog.

To enhance this intensely blue turquoise, veined with fine black and dark blue lines, the client wanted the setting to retain the drop shape of the semi-precious stone. She also requested a double-layered silver setting to provide a stable base and a more pronounced sense of volume.

We followed her specifications with precision to craft the Firoza ring, emphasizing elegance and balance in the design. The drop-shaped turquoise rests on two superimposed silver plates, also drop-shaped, with the first being slightly smaller than the second. This subtle layering creates a sense of depth and relief, accentuating the beauty of the stone. The widest part of the cabochon is delicately adorned with small silver spheres, adding a refined and sophisticated touch.

I named this ring Firoza, meaning turquoise in Hindi, as a tribute to the traditional drop and almond-shaped motifs found in Indian art. These ornamental elements are deeply embedded in Indian design and architecture, echoing the timeless aesthetic of this piece.
