JEWELRY
INSPIRATION
The "Silver Fern" ring draws its inspiration from a Maori legend known as the Legend of Rahi. Rahi, a mythical hero of Maori culture in New Zealand, sees his wife Ti Ara kidnapped by an enemy tribe. To prevent any pursuit, the tribe’s sorcerer casts a spell on the forest, making it impenetrable and impossible to cross.
However, Ti Ara shows great ingenuity: along her path, she folds back the silver fern leaves, revealing their pale undersides and creating a shining, luminous trail that Rahi can follow. These vegetal signs become symbols of hope, connection, and resilience between the two spouses.
The silver fern (Cyathea dealbata), a natural and cultural emblem of New Zealand, plays a key role in this quest, combining cleverness, perseverance, and wisdom. Beyond the legend, the fern is a sacred plant for the Maori, traditionally used in construction, medicine, bedding, and carrying spiritual protection.
To evoke this story and its symbols, the ring features the design of our "Raden" model, with its band delicately engraved with fern leaves. A delicate crescent moon adorns the lower part of the ring, recalling the moonlight that illuminates the silver underside of the ferns, guiding Rahi through the night. On top, a rainbow moonstone (white labradorite) with bluish, translucent reflections evokes both the moon and the sparkling glimmers of the silver ferns.
This ring, full of poetry and mystery, pays tribute to the plant world, ancestral legends, and nocturnal symbols. It will charm those who love to wear jewelry that carries stories and deep meaning.
