INSPIRATION
The “Ishaia” earrings are designed around an oriental motif inspired by a floral mandala. The word mandala comes from Sanskrit and literally means “circle” or “circumference.” By extension, it also refers to the environment or community, and symbolizes unity and wholeness. This universal symbol appears in many civilizations across the world, but holds a particularly central place in Indian cultures.
In Buddhism, the mandala is used as a support for meditation and contemplation. It incorporates a multitude of symbols that often represent the cosmic, spiritual, or psychological dimensions of the universe. These mandalas may form part of ritual offerings, intended to purify the mind and awaken consciousness.
In Hinduism, the mandala is seen as a sacred gateway, a divine diagram that facilitates communication with deities and cosmic forces. It serves as a symbolic guide for prayer, meditation, and spiritual connection.
The finely engraved mandala on these earrings depicts a stylized flower with delicate petals, evoking both the ephemeral beauty of nature and the blossoming of the soul. The design has been delicately cut to follow the circular lines of the floral motif, reinforcing the sense of harmony and continuity.
Suspended from this mandala is a silver teardrop-shaped bead, symbolizing fluidity, balance, and purity. Like a drop of water adapting to its path, it represents inner harmony and the flow of living energy.
