Lichen, botanical symbiosis ring in silver and pink sapphire

The "Lichen" ring is a unique piece, designed around an oval, faceted pink sapphire set at the center of the band. This delicate and vibrant gemstone is flanked on each side by small silver spheres. Some of these spheres are gently pierced, creating a concave effect that evokes organic growth.

This ring is inspired by one of nature’s most fascinating organisms: lichen. Also known as a "lichenized fungus," it results from a unique symbiosis between a fungus and photosynthetic cells, creating an ecosystem capable of surviving in extreme conditions.

At the heart of this composition, the pink sapphire symbolizes the energy source and the light needed for photosynthesis. The small silver spheres represent lichen in full growth, in a state of perpetual transformation. Each sphere alludes to the intensity of collaboration between these two elements, a subtle and essential relationship for the survival of the whole.

Lichen is a perfect example of symbiosis, an intimate and reciprocal association where each part relies on the other to grow and thrive. It teaches us that, in nature and in life, it is essential to go beyond our own individuality. This ring serves as a reminder of the importance of stepping out of our comfort zone, reaching out to others, and embracing diversity.
