INSPIRATION
"Deer in the Early Morning" is a pair of silver earrings inspired by the rich and vibrant art of the Otomi tribes of Mexico. Oval in shape, they capture the enchanting essence of a pastoral scene at sunrise, in the colorful and symbolic style of traditional embroidery from this indigenous people.
The engravings on these earrings evoke bucolic landscapes, protective animals, and magical encounters that often characterize Otomi tribal imagery. These scenes, once embroidered on clothing and sacred textiles, served as a true identity marker, symbolizing tribal origin, family lineage, and the social status of the wearer. They are also considered a living memory of the Otomis’ spiritual connection with nature.
Following the tradition of these designs, the earrings depict a morning clearing where forest animals gather peacefully around a central flower-tree, a motif of fertility and abundance. Majestic deer mingle with graceful birds, while stylized plants and flowers spread around them. Every engraved detail recalls the delicate beauty of the forest and the harmony among living beings.
These earrings embody delicate femininity and a deep love of nature. They are perfect for anyone who appreciates pastoral scenes, wild animals, the poetry of dawn, and the richness of Mexican culture. Wearing them carries a fragment of Otomi art—a bestiary jewel that links tradition, spirituality, and wonder at the natural world.
