Metaphysical, mystery of nature pendant in sterling silver and brecciated mookaite jasper
It is made of sterling silver (925) made by hand in my workshop and a brecciated mookaite jasper with snow and vanilla color.
this stone is truly unique and surprising in its composition in colored panels. It fascinated me as soon as I laid my eyes on it and should be part of my collection.
the Mookaite brecciated is a beautiful variation of the classic Mookaite. Brecciated refers to a geological process in which the movements of the earth cause mineral deposits that break into pieces. Then, with time, when the silica-rich water flows between the broken pieces, crystallized silica and recasts all parts by welding. This results in a Mookaite stone mosaic in different shades of colors.
In the specific case of this Mookaite, we have three main color tones of yellow ocher, white and vanilla. A darker line, making it look like a piece of stained glass, brown-black color, separates them from each other.
It was almost inconceivable to me that nature can create such piece. The way the rock adapts to form such a mosaic of diverse colors seems to depend more of the magic, unexplained and paranormal act than a natural phenomenon.
therefore, I chose to name this sterling silver pendant metaphysical since this mysterious phenomenon of nature could depend on the discipline. Metaphysics is a branch of philosophy and theology that seeks to investigate the causes and the first principles. Understand the mystery behind this nature could be one of the fundamental issues of the discipline.
I set this semi-precious stone on a silver plate with the arrow-shaped claws to enhance the aesthetics of this cutting Mookaite.
The sterling silver was then oxidized and brushed to give an even more rustic effect. The back is strongly oxidized and brushed too.
It measures 5.5 x 3.7 cm (2.165 x 1.467 inches).
This pendant is really one of a kind.
