The Little Prince, volcano and planet necklace in sterling silver
This pendant is made of sterling silver (925) made by hand in my workshop.
The main theme is the one of the Little Prince from Saint-Exupéry. It is represented on the planet, near one of its active volcanoes.
In the book, the little prince tells us that he has three volcanoes on his planet, two active and one inactive. In particular, he uses to heat his breakfast.
before leaving his planet, the little prince takes good care of sweeping its volcanoes to avoid they erupt. This is also the main problem on earth, too small, we cannot maintain and clean out our volcanoes and they erupt...
The back of the pendant is decorated with the phrase engraved by hand "the essential is invisible to the eye", famous quote from the book of Saint-Exupéry.
It is artisan etched. The etching process takes times but the result allows appreciating the intricate and delicate patterns. The bas relief effect is really nice. The deeper part is matte and the upper part has been sanded and polished.
Etching is an artisanal process which produces a unique design each time I use it. Two pieces with a same design will never be exactly the same by the hazards of the process. Each detail makes a unique piece.
Polished, shiny finish.
This sterling silver necklace is 15.7 inches (40 cm) long. It is made of a thin sterling silver chain that you can fasten on the front disc.
It is 3cm in diameter.
It is perfect to wear every day.
